According to Nancy Anderson, Director of Grants and Research with the City of Arkadelphia, the city was awarded a drainage art grant in the amount of $10,000 from Alcoa in September 2014. The grant has to be completed by May of 2016 and will serve five purposes to the community. According to Anderson, the project will draw attention to and build awareness of the city’s storm drains and what is going down them directly into the rivers. The city will power wash the storm drains before the project begins. Artists will be challenged with incorporating the physical storm drain structures into their art piece. READ MORE...
